On This Day Shorts

One strange moment from history, every day.

On This Day Shorts is a small personal project that makes one short video each day about an unusual event that happened on that date in history. The events come from Wikipedia's "On this day" list. The scripts and narration are generated with AI and are labelled as such on each video.

What the app does

A scheduled job picks an event, writes a short script, adds a synthetic voice and stock footage, and then uploads the finished video to the project owner's own YouTube channel. To upload, the app asks the owner's Google account for permission to upload videos to that one channel.

Who it is for

The app is run only by its owner, for the owner's own channel. It is not offered to other people to sign in to, and it does not collect information from visitors to this website.
